Notes
Recipe tips:Use softened butter—cold won’t whip, melted turns greasy. Adjust sweetness with 2 to 8 tbsp honey and icing sugar. Salt enhances flavor; reduce if using salted butter. Sift powdered sugar if clumpy for a smooth texture.Storage: Store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 1 month; let sit at room temp before serving. Freeze up to 3 months, thaw in the fridge overnight.Ingredient notes:Butter yields the best flavor; half or all margarine works but changes texture. Mild, runny honey blends best; stronger varieties can overpower. Powdered sugar stabilizes; omitting it results in a thinner texture. Cinnamon adds warmth but is optional.
