Craving Chick-Fil-A sauce, but can’t get any right now? Make your own copycat version at home with just 5 ingredients!
I love a good dipping sauce as much as the next person! And I most love them when I can make them right at home with a few simple ingredients ?
This one is delicious with chicken nuggets, oven fried chicken, potato wedges… We love it!

Ingredient notes
Mayo: I know we’re going for maximum authenticity when it comes to copycat recipes, but actually… I mostly make this one with Greek Yogurt instead of mayo.
I do add an extra teaspoon of mustard with the Greek yogurt for more flavor. Since we enjoy a lot of dipping sauce, I do like the lighter version with yogurt for our everyday use.
Honey: The honey has a big effect on the color and flavor of the sauce. The darker your honey, the darker your sauce. I recommend a lighter, mild honey here.
BBQ sauce: There are so many BBQ sauces out there, it can be hard to choose! I prefer a classic BBQ sauce with a smokey, tangy flavor. Sweet Baby Ray’s is always a good choice, if you ask me!
How to make this copycat sauce
This is so easy! You just add all the ingredients to a bowl…
… and stir until smooth. That’s all the prep work done!
I like to chill the sauce in the fridge for an hour before using it. It helps to thicken it up so it sticks better to nuggets and fries.
Recipe tips
- What exact ingredients you’re using will dictate how the end result looks and tastes. Make sure you’re using ingredients you like the taste of.
- I recommend to taste-test the sauce before chilling. Adjust the ingredient amounts to your liking – want it more tangy? Add more vinegar. More sweetness? Add more honey. You can also add a little salt if you feel the sauce is too bland.
- Store the sauce in the fridge for up to 5 days, if you have any leftovers.
