WILDKIN INSULATED LUNCH BOX

- fits smaller boxes plus a thermos (with straps!), or fits a bento
Reviews and Pros/Cons
Bentgo Fresh
The Bentgo Fresh is a kid-friendly and adorably happy bento lunch box. It definitely can’t miss on any list about the best kids lunch boxes for school!
Why I love it:
- the compartments have a good size (I don’t like Bentos with a million tiny compartments – I never use them)
- there’s a removable divider
- easy to open and close for kids
- so far it’s leakproof
The things I don’t love?
It’s not entirely dishwasher safe ? and the rubber seal isn’t replaceable (which is kind of a big thing for me! but most lunch boxes are this way, and the Bentgo makes more than up for this flaw in other ways)
And then there’s the thing about latches and hinges potentially breaking… BUT. This just happens over time with pretty much any plastic lunch box.
The Bentgo is sturdy and durable so it shouldn’t happen after three uses. AND I love that the lid is hinged – my kids ALWAYS lose the detachable ones!
Lunch Bots
Lunch Bots are lightweight, durable and come in different sizes – that way your pre-k kid doesn’t need to take a half-empty box to school ??
Why I love it:
- dishwasher safe!!
- the size is perfect for my girl who doesn’t eat a lot at school
- it’s not plastic
The things I don’t love?
This is not leakproof.
While I’m definitely the kind of mom who sends her kids to school with mess-free lunches (hello, pretzels, apple slices and cheese ??♀️) and NOT with crazy stuff like soup or tomato sauce (who. does. that?!?!)…
I take extra care not to pack juicy stuff into lunch boxes I know aren’t leakproof, and that’s an extra mental step I cannot always do, ahem #thirdkidproblems
Also, the darn lid comes off. Only send this box with a gazillion warnings about bringing the lid back home ??
Wildkin Insulated Lunch Box
Oh my goodness, these are the CUTEST insulated lunch boxes!
Why I love them:
- great price – you can get two per kid without breaking the bank
- the cutest designs for the kids
- not too big for kiddie backpacks, but still large enough to either fit a bento box, or a couple of smaller containers plus a bottle
- has a pouch for an ice pack and straps for a thermos
What I don’t love about the Wildkin boxes?
Well… They do have a few flaws, but luckily none too grave.
These tend to have threads come lose, but I guess you get what you pay for… The price really is great, and it’s not like it falls apart or anything.
I would also love a way to store a beverage on the outside (without having to open the big zipper to get a drink).
AND you really need to air these out after every use/wipe, or they can get moldy really fast. Which is why it’s a good idea to keep two at hand – that way you can air one out for a day, while the other one is in use.
