It is so easy to air fry corn on the cob – and it’s ready in under 20 minutes, too. The corn comes out flavorful, slightly charred and perfectly cooked, it’s a family favorite served with lots of melty butter!
Air fried corn on the cob
- This recipe is quick and easy to prepare, with minimum hands-on time.
- The corn comes out perfectly cooked every time – soft, flavorful and with a slight char, without having the need to turn on the oven or use the grill!
- Serve the corn with just butter for the most traditional taste, or sprinkle on freshly chopped parsley for a kick of fresh flavor. The corn is also delicious with garlic butter or some parmesan cheese sprinkled on!

Ingredient notes
- Oil: I used olive oil, but feel free to use a neutral vegetable oil suitable for cooking you use in your kitchen. Canola is usually one of my top choices next to olive oil. Feel free to spray your corn with cooking spray instead of brushing it with oil.
- Corn: I mostly use pre-shucked, fresh corn on the cob. Make sure to thoroughly shuck yours if needed. Frozen corn on the cob works, too. Use the corn straight from frozen, air fry it for 3-4 minutes before brushing with oil and seasoning with salt and pepper. Finish air frying for another 8-10 minutes.
How to air fry corn on the cob
Note: I always preheat my air fryer on its hottest setting for 5 minutes before using it. I do find it yields the best results in pretty much every recipe!
1. Brush the ears of corn with oil, then season them with salt and pepper.
2. Place the corn in the air fryer basket (I use a 5.5 quart Corsori, it holds 4 ears of corn – if your air fryer is smaller, you may need to do less ears per batch).
3. Air fry the corn until cooked through and lightly browned – I usually do 7 minutes, flip it, then do another 7-10 minutes, depending on how brown we want it.

4. Immediately place the corn on a serving platter and brush with butter to serve. I also like to sprinkle on some fresh herbs, but that’s optional!
Recipe tips
- If your air fryer is very small and the ears don’t fit whole, cut them in half or into thirds to make them fit your basket.
- I very much recommend pre-heating your air fryer for best results.
- You can tell your corn is done once the kernels start to look slightly wrinkled, feel soft and are a deep golden color.
- The cooked corn keeps in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Serving ideas
We enjoy corn on the cob with classic dishes like BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, oven fried chicken or marinated steak.
But it’s also a great side for BBQ pulled chicken tacos, pork tenderloin or baked cod!
